Actors Seema Pahwa and Javed Jaffery bashed influencers for comparing themselves with established stars. Taking this incident as an example, Soundarya Sharma defends influencers and said, “Now, what will you do? Who’s to blame here? Even an influencer is working so hard, just look at that. To get to that point, because ultimately, see, the idea is—I don’t know, for some people, it might be that I just want to create some fun stuff. And all, like my perspective about this thing, is entertainment. I want to be in front of the camera, on the big screen, anything. That’s my goal, I want to make it big, be a super thing, like that. So everyone has their vision about their things, right?”

She added, “Now, if someone is working hard for that thing, and they’re getting that pedestal, and they’re generating revenue out of it, then that’s their livelihood. So why wouldn’t someone do it if they are benefiting from it? For them, it becomes their bread and butter. So just sitting at home, you’re not just sitting at home. They have a collective team going on.”

The actress continued, “People are generating lakhs and crores. Do you get that? So just think about where it has reached. Social media—it’s the power of social media. If we are sitting here today, talking about what’s happening in Hollywood, what’s going on with someone, it’s because of social media. So, I think the positives outweigh the negatives.”

Soundarya Sharma concluded, “And as they said, definitely any actor might feel this way, but what can they do? I mean, this is a revolution that has come to us—technology. You can say that over some time, like right now, there’s this debate going on about millennials and Gen Z. So there are certain things you can’t combat. This had to happen, AI is here now, so who will blame whom? What will they do, right? So I feel like everyone is selling something in their way.”
